I hear some grumbling about the bridge taking a long time. I’m not very sure this is the real issue with the bridge. I bought some XTM a long time ago and looks like I’m lucky I didn’t bridge it to wXTM because as far as I can tell, there is no way to bridge it back to the privacy coin. I have plenty of wXTM. Was buying it at .0003. Which was amazing after buying XTM at 5 cents. Thing is, the stuff is like, completely easy to get, unlike XTM which is very very difficult to get. Especially now that TradeOgre is gone.
So in my opinion the real issue with this bridge is that it’s one way. Can’t be run in reverse.
I do also wish to commend the devs on reducing the size of the Node from 35GB to under 1GB. Nice trick.
The value of the XTM seems to be much greater every time someone bridges it to the easy to buy wXTM. I don’t see how the value of XTM is related to the value of wXTM at all, and I don’t even see XTM listed on any exchanges. So go ahead and bridge away you lucky ones who can procure some of this rarely heard of privacy coin. Makes absolutely no difference to me.
The bridge works both ways! You can both wrap and unwrap from your Tari Universe application. There is a 5m daily limit in both directions, but we are currently discussing raising that.
Ah, ok. That explains it the bridge is down for maintenance right now. That is probably why I didn’t see any option that would make me think it could be done. It’s been over a year since I looked at the app and I thought I remembered an option to do that, which I would have looked for back at the beginning before trying the bridge in the XTM ->wXTM direction. Just needed a reminder I guess. Thanks
I would still like to do this, I have a large amount sitting in a wallet on Ethereum I would prefer it was XTM. Anyone know when this unwrapping’s going to be available again?
