@luci666 I understand the appeal of WordPress, having used it for several projects now, but I’d rather not use it if we can avoid it. The more time goes by the more I find myself using static site generators instead. They are entirely version controlled (the Git link you showed earlier just version controls the plugins/themes/site code, not the page content), and it introduces a great deal of roadblocks when implementing a custom design-- the amount of work needed to get a theme precisely where you want it is painful.
I recognize the downside is that it’s less easy for non-developers to work on it. But Platz is not a developer and he’s not having trouble getting content PR’d against the repository. I’m going to review it and I’m sure I’ll have some concerns about the code generated, but the point is this isn’t the block it used to be, and we already have volunteers who can work with the system as it stands.
Maybe we will consider moving to WordPress or some other CMS eventually, but in the short term it’s not a priority to me.
No, I’d rather not use Discord for this conversation. It’s too ephemeral and difficult to keep track of the conversation at the level of detail needed. It also requires you to have an account to read what’s going on, and if we ever have to move off of it, keeping track of the data will be a pain.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Discord for a lot of live conversations, DMs, and general talk. But once we’re actually trying to build something in the open, the forum is best.
On SEO and the design specifics I’m not an expert-- so I’ll defer to others to comment.

Tari Labs University, Tari Store, and Developer updates blog were each great resources and helped drive interest. Unlike most other projects, Tari had the feel of reaching over the technicalities to welcome and involve those from all backgrounds and with diverse skillsets. Perhaps they can be resurrected in some form when we have the manpower and Tari has its groove back

You have the forum function in Discord; it’s not the only problem; having 2 chats dilute your user base.
I find the Discord forum functionality unsuitable, and it’s also not viewable without an account. We also would have all of our forum history bound to a third party service, and that’s not good for a public project like this.
The Discord is good for workshopping ideas and chatting. The Telegram works, too, and some folks prefer there. In both, links to the forum are given for in-depth discussion, which is why we have it.
I’m not worried about the dilution problem. People have been happy to read over the forum when curious about progress since it’s open view, and it’s not hard to register and chime in if you have something thoughtful to say. When keeping casual, the chats still work great.

Just gone through and updated the code based on your feedback @Fox and made some other minor tweaks including adding docs into the navbar, removing the Tiktok social button from the footer and I have also removed links to Tari Labs University & the Tari Genesis Store.

Agree on @luci666 that we should think a little more about SEO, but perhaps we need to do this in a seperate TIP that explores where the current gaps are. I think even before we get to a stage of needing a CMS or additional content just going through and doing on-page technical updates would probably be pretty high leverage and I’m fairly confident AI should be able to support in achieving this.
That wouldn’t need to be a TIP-- it could just be a report posted to the forums here or as issues on the repository. They could make good bounties!
Any chance we can keep University? I happen to like it, I don’t think we’ve come to a final decision of what to do with it, and it does work, as far as I know.

University needs an update I think, but nothing written there is wrong, and its a good source of information, probably less help full than AI nowadays, but still good.

@luci666 Would you mind starting a new thread for this, detailing the changes you’re recommending? It’s orthogonal to the work being done here.
Preferably, if you could attach the reports to that thread it would be helpful-- I had to sign in via web on Discord to see it which was a friction point. You can also make a PR addressing the points against the repository yourself if you like.

Another reason why I propose WordPress is that
it does SEO automatically, or at least he let you know what is wrong with your site
How long have you been working on this project? 8 years. 8 years. And finally, you see the result of all your hard work. Don’t you think that after 8 years of hard work, this project needs to celebrate that milestone? The Ootle mainnet is something; why not have a brand new website to celebrate that news?
Why do you make it so difficult for people to have work done?
@luci666 Crabbing at everyone that they’re not immediately dropping everything to take your suggestions is not a way for them to be taken seriously. I asked you to start a new thread with this info so we could keep track of it while we finish looking over Plats’ work, and give it the discussion its due.
Instead you’re insisting on hijacking the current thread and giving everyone beef because they don’t agree with your approach.
Now, create the new thread with the info about your SEO suggestions, or drop it.
