Hey everyone,Was thinking about how far Tari L2 has come, and realized… why aren’t we “dogfooding” our own tech right here on our own forum?
Here’s a fun idea I wanted to throw out there: What if we brought Tari L2 into the forum background, without changing any of the familiar Discourse experience?
No annoying Web3 popups, no learning curve for non-crypto folks—just L2 quietly making the forum way more rewarding to use.
How it would actually work
-
Auto Wallet on Signup
- When you register, you automatically get an L2 wallet address (“Token Vault”) linked to your profile behind the scenes. Zero setup required.
-
Upvote Rewards & 1-Click Tipping
-
Upvotes: Keep the regular upvote button, but when you get upvoted, a micro-reward drops into your vault automatically.
-
Tips: A simple “Tip” button under posts so you can instantly send a few tokens to someone who answered your question or wrote a great guide.
-
-
Admin Events & Airdrops
- Admins can host community events (bug hunts, hackathons, MVP of the month) and batch-airdrop L2 rewards to winners with a single click.
The Token Flywheel (L1 ↔ L2 & Burning)
To make sure tokens actually have value and don’t just hyper-inflate, here’s a simple closed-loop setup:
-
L1 ↔ L2 Move: Lock native $XTM on L1 to mint L2 tokens for forum fun. Want to cash out? Just burn L2 tokens to unlock native $XTM back to your L1 wallet.
-
Token Sinks: Projects or members can pay in L2 tokens to pin threads, buy ad space, or unlock special badges.
-
The Deflationary Burn: 50% of tokens spent on ads/badges get permanently burned, and the other 50% go back to the Community Treasury to fund future upvotes and events.
