Is this thread for bounties that are already listed in separate GitHub repository?
Is it intended for CCS-style bounties?
Or is this thread meant for both types of bounties?
If there are CCS-style bounties that require changes in a Tari repository (e.g., for Tari Universe), how can we get approval from Core Contributors to work on them? Since the community may propose a bounty for desired functionality, but we won’t be able to merge it into the target repository without Core Contributor approval, it would be preferable to get approval before starting the work and funding, so that the effort is not wasted.
Should we request approval from Core Contributors in this topic, or is there another place for that?
Hi @0xskr33p !
This category is for anyone to post a bounty who has the means to post them. That could be CCs asking for help via Tari labs’ funding, or it could be someone in the community who wants to sponsor a feature.
If someone posts a bounty here, it can be discussed and worked on. If you are someone taking up a bounty, it is always a good idea to discuss your approach with the CCs before opening a PR if it’s more than trivial. This is the same as with any open source project. This makes sure you don’t work too hard in one direction without getting feedback that might change your approach.
This thread is to clarify the bounties category, and your question fits right into that ![]()
The long-term form of official bounties is something I expect we’ll all be discussing over the coming weeks, and I believe it will be heavily influenced by the council proposal.
