I have been following the “Active Miners” figure displayed in Tari Universe for the past few months, and I have noticed something that I would appreciate some clarification on.
The figure seems to remain remarkably stable around 15,500–15,600. For example, it is currently around 15,578, and I have rarely, if ever, seen it move significantly outside this range over the past few months.
I understand that this does not necessarily mean that exactly 15,500 people are mining at any given moment. People may stop mining, return later, new users may join, etc. However, if this is intended to represent the number of active miners, I would expect to see somewhat larger fluctuations and, over a period of several months, potentially some indication of growth or decline.
Could someone from the Tari team clarify:
- What exactly does the “Active Miners” figure measure?
- Is it a real-time figure, or is it calculated over a particular period?
- Is there any cap, sampling, or other mechanism that could explain why it remains within such a narrow range?
- Does it represent unique users, mining instances/devices, or something else?
I am asking simply because I am trying to understand what this number tells us about the actual size and growth of the Tari Universe mining community. If the figure is not intended to represent the number of currently active individual miners, it would be helpful to know how it should be interpreted.
Thank you.
