Inconsistent URL Tickers for Minotari Across Data Sites – Let’s Ask for a Unified Slug

Dear community,

I’ve noticed a practical nuisance: the same project (Minotari) is assigned different URL identifiers across major crypto data platforms. This makes link sharing, searching, and API integration unnecessarily confusing.

Here are the current URL slugs on the platforms that already list Minotari:

Platform URL Slug
CoinMarketCap tari
CoinGecko minotari-tari
CoinCodex minotari-tari
Feixiaohao (非小号) xtm
MyToken xtm

Other widely used international platforms – such as TradingView, Messari, CoinPaprika, and CryptoCompare – either do not yet list Minotari, or their slug is not clearly defined. This makes it even more important to establish a consistent standard that they can adopt in the future.

This fragmentation leads to broken links, confused new users, and extra work for developers. To make matters worse, another project called Torum also uses the ticker XTM, so having a distinct and consistent URL slug for Minotari is even more critical to avoid accidental misclicks.

Let’s take action:

I suggest we:

  1. Agree on a single preferred slug – for example, minotari, tari, or xtm.
  2. Hold a community vote to decide which one we support.
  3. Reach out to CoinMarketCap, CoinGecko, CoinCodex, and other platforms with a unified request to adopt that slug (and ideally redirect the old ones).

Please comment below with your preference and any thoughts. If we speak with one voice, we can make Minotari much easier to find.

I agree that getting some clarity and consistency around the tickers and branding is important.

One thing that may be worth considering alongside this is that we will effectively have three closely related assets: XTM, WXTM, and the new Layer 2 token, previously referred to as XTR, which I understand will use the TARI ticker.

I am not sure how platforms like CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap would typically handle this when the assets are technically different tokens but are closely related and potentially represent the same underlying value.

If they would normally require separate listings, it may make sense to wait until all three are live in November and then approach the platforms with a complete and consistent structure, rather than fixing XTM now and potentially needing to revisit everything again shortly afterwards.

My preference would probably be for XTM and WXTM to retain their respective tickers, with the new Layer 2 token taking the TARI ticker. If the platforms are able to represent all three together under a single project page, then I think Tari makes the most sense as the overarching project name and URL slug.
