With the Ootle launching 11.11.26, I wanted to do something to get people thinking about what actually gets built on it, and have a bit of fun in the process.
So I’m running an Ootle use-case giveaway across a few platforms, and this thread is where it all comes together.
The idea
If you had ZEC-level privacy and ETH-style smart contracts in one place, what would you build? A dApp, a private stablecoin application, a DeFi idea, a payment tool, anything. I want to hear the best use cases the community can dream up.
How it works
I’ve posted this on Twitter (and Reddit/Bluesky), collecting ideas across platforms
I’ll gather the strongest submissions from everywhere into a shortlist
That shortlist goes up as a poll right here on the forum
The community votes, and the winning idea takes 50,000 XTM
You can drop your idea directly in this thread too, comments here count as entries alongside the other platforms.
Timeline
Submissions close end of week. I’ll compile the shortlist and post the poll shortly after, with voting open to the community.
The whole point is to surface the ideas people are genuinely excited to see built on the Ootle, and let the community decide which one resonates most. Drop your thoughts below
Private Signal Vault — sell trading signals without revealing them (or your P&L) until they expire
What I’d build on the Ootle: a confidential marketplace for trading signals.
A provider publishes a commitment to a signal (asset, side, entry, stop) as a confidential Ootle asset.
Buyers pay in XTR to unlock it. Amounts, buyer identities and the provider’s track record are private on-chain.
After expiry, the commitment is revealed against public market data, so every outcome is verifiable: nobody can front-run a signal, nobody can fake a track record, and no exchange or Telegram admin sits in the middle.
ZEC-level privacy makes the economics work (providers won’t publish edge on a public chain); ETH-style templates make the escrow/reveal logic trivial. The same “pay to reveal, verify after” primitive fits research, oracles and private auctions.
I trade with my own measured indicator stack, so I’d build this first for myself and open it to other providers at launch.
Huge turnout, 20+ submissions across X, the forum and Reddit. Now it’s your turn: vote for your favourite idea in the poll below. Voting runs all week until Sunday.
Great to see so many people eager to build on the Ootle!
On-chain treasure hunt (Cicada 3301 style) · lock stablecoin behind a puzzle, first to solve wins, auto payout · lulinabulina (X)
Confidential B2B streaming & invoicing · encrypted payroll/vendor streams with View Key auditing for tax compliance · PUNX_XMR (X)
Censorship-resistant crowdfunding (GoFundMe × Patreon) · raise funds or recurring creator support, no platform can freeze or deplatform · proofofjoseph (X)
Thanks for running this @Okz! Quick question: the “Poll Continued” part (post #4) only has 1 voter, while the first poll has 16. Will the two polls be combined for the final count? Many people may not have noticed the second one.
Blockchain adoption in to B remains relatively limited. I’d love to see Ootle gain traction among small businesses, especially in payroll and wage disbursement systems.
Thanks Okz, makes sense. One small thing: the continued poll (post 4) has 1 voter vs 21 on the first one, so the ideas in it are mostly unseen. A line at the top of post 3 pointing to it, or comparing by share of each poll’s voters at tally time, would keep it fair for the later entries.
They won’t be combined since each entry will be counted individually, but i understand what you mean, ill keep this in mind for the next giveaway .. now we know limit here for a poll is 20XD
Congrats @Lulina, an on-chain cipher puzzle is a great fit for Ootle. Thanks Okz for running this and for posting the results here.
For the next contest, one suggestion: a build round where entries must be live on the Ootle testnet (template address plus a short demo), scored half by community vote and half by a quick hands-on test from the team. It rewards things people can actually use, and shortlisting before the poll gets around the 20-option limit.
I think someone who would build website and framework/wrapper over cargo-generate with like 50 apps examples and starting project as easy as npx create new app select baseline codebase for that app, would be golden. Overall something closer to openzeppelin and as easy to interact as creating something in framework.
P.S.: Don’t care about context, just thinking it is a best thread to share ideas now.
